hands so I do not question their relevance but the pressure they can exert on the reader than I am.
the past month, while I drew up a balance sheet of what I had to read my various challenges to close, I realized I did not necessarily want to read these titles then immediately.
I am not wanted to risk missing out on a book due to time or attention or to tarnish my reading pleasure for some virtual stickers.
At the end of the year, I realized that my reading habits have changed, ever guided by additional delays (partnerships, common readings, challenges ,...).
Without in any way waive these forms of exchange that I find very rewarding nonetheless, I now avoid too put me on the back and rediscover the joy and power draw of a book to suit my mood. The pleasure reading without constraints, in fact the dream of every player:)

Church Service Death Invitation

Dream - Arthur Schnitzler

"Double Dream" is a new, signed by Arthur Schnitzler Austrian. Issued in 1925, she has been inspired Stanley Kubrick's famous film "Eyes Wide Shut".
In Vienna, Fridolin, a doctor, and Albertine, a housewife, a bourgeois couple are uneventful. The day after a masked ball, Albertine back on the events of the evening. While his
husband was displayed with two buxom creatures, Albertine saw himself courted by a wealthy notable. Both grow
voluntarily made to inflame the jealousy of another. Begins for one another like a quest that will change their acknowledgments of torque.

strange sensations I experienced while reading this news. As its name suggests, it is about the dream world of a man and a woman but also the confusion that seems to constantly take place between dreams and reality.
Following the revelations of his wife, Fridolin feels jealousy that pretends to contain the lead but in the streets of Vienna in search of pleasures that he never will sell, however.
"Double Dream" appears as an initiatory journey to the heart of all temptations. The reader follows Fridolin according to his nocturnal wanderings, his fantasies and his enigmatic encounters with women, expressed in the form of interior monologues.
It raises the question backdrop of the importance of communication in marriage - is it absolutely necessary to say everything, abolishing all forms of secret garden at the risk of hurting the other and endanger his marriage? - Like the ability of two people to be able to exist freely outside the domestic sphere.

"Because even if they belonged one body and soul, they knew that yesterday and it was not the first time, a breath of adventure, freedom and danger had touched ; taken both by the fear, the desire to torment an unfair and curiosity, they tried to squeeze the other revelations and, approaching with a certain anxiety, each trying in itself was some, albeit insignificant, an event, even insignificant, which could have passed for the expression of the unspeakable and the honest admission that might have been able to deliver a voltage but also a distrust that began to become unbearable. "p.25

Mystery, sensuality, eroticism latent each line voluntarily plays on an ambiguity which the reader tends to wander between reality and fiction. If the language is classic, the individual remains alive and I can only applaud the fine analysis of the couple whose author has demonstrated in relation to his time. His friendship with Stefan Zweig would it be for something?:)

" Plus she had advanced in his account, he had lived longer had appeared ridiculous, at least until the point where he had gone, and he vowed to live through all these adventures, then make him a faithful account and take his revenge on this woman, in her dream, s' was unveiled as it was, faithless, cruel and treacherous, and he thought he hated that moment more deeply than he had ever loved. "p.122

Confessions of a tobacco smoker French - Roland Dubillard

Written in 1974," Confessions a tobacco smoker French "is the diary kept by the French writer Roland Dubillard while trying to get rid of his addiction to cigarettes.

Unlike Fabrice Valantine, hero of the famous " Smoke and kills ", here the narrator does not kill nothing but time, a concept which, as every smoker knows repentant or not, is the most cruel during weaning.
The narrator is not his first first attempt but this time for sure, draw the chronicle of his daily struggle will achieve its goals!
In a few hundred pages, it provides us therefore presented his thoughts Bulk of 14 days over who will succeed the fear of failing, the difficulty in changing habits and focus on something other than abstinence, the irreplaceable nature of the subject yet so futile the cigarette, bad faith and loneliness in which this approach immerses the more painful it must be final to be considered successful.

Continue to stop, day after day, became his obsession and a source of constant anxiety. Smoking, it did not arise from questions about his condition.
But now he takes a fresh look at the world now that he is on the other side of the fence. New smells appear. Unless he is actually smells forgotten by years of smoking?

" Cigarettes hollow, with its lit end, a burrow in which it is possible to forget the urgency of the world.
There is magic in this little thing we do not talk. Tonight in the subway, thinking that I would not smoke, he suddenly appeared to me that he had great courage to accept the world as it now. Until we accomplish this futile act, you feel taught to live seriously, that is to say, as if it existed, as if they were born.
Not by its effects, but even by its combustion, tobacco is oblivion, like alcohol. "p.36

should not see this little opus miraculous method to quit smoking but the story of a singular experience.
The narrator here is interested in close relationship, even intimate, that unites the to cigarette smoking, it is readily applicable in conjunction with Beatrice, the woman temptress he observes with envy and represents for him a second source of frustration.

" The pipe is an object. This is the possessive of tobacco. She remains, while tobacco nothing stays. She is aging.
This cigarette, the key is whether smoke, no matter by whom. But my pipe, I keep it in a drawer. It lends a woman often does not wish we could have her, nor the body of this desire. "p.91

"
This is not a garment that is missing when naked is a light, as feared or as desired; that it is only possible or whether actual, embodied in one eye, or dreamed it.
So, what I call my hunger ceased to walk decently, almost invisible in her robe of smoke. She was naked.
"p.106

On the basis of philosophical principles - that I could not always follow I admit - declined in a poetic form first and foremost, the purpose is intended devoid of critical thinking and illustrates perfectly the contradiction rejection / desire that operates in each of us when it comes to pleasure and addiction.

And for those who want to try with good resolutions for the coming year;)

In an interview with "Voice Eco," Mr JC Minot, director of the Lille airport, first discussed the impact of weather, the Icelandic volcano and strikes before continuing:
"On a More broadly, we counted nearly 1.2 million passengers , and 2010 has been a record year for holiday flights (320 000). Bids are increasingly competitive in this area and this will continue. Algiers (85,000 persons per year), Porto and Spain are part of our history. Morocco will grow, just as Turkey and Tunisia. Sardinian destination starts in April. I find flights to countries of East and to Rome. Finally, I campaigned for greater cross into France with flights to Perpignan, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Toulouse: we need additional capacity. On all these plans, 2011 will be an exciting year. "

What Do Men Think Of Female Genital Piercings?

Faces - Jesse Kellerman (audiobook)

Released in 2008 in the USA and translated into French in 2009, "Faces" is the third novel by the writer American Jesse Kellerman.

Ethan Muller, 32, runs an art gallery in Chelsea. When Tony, the right arm of his father, invited him to move to admire the drawings of an artist, Ethan begins to refuse given the tenuous links he has with his father.
Finally, intrigued, got into a taxi to Tony in a gloomy apartment located in Queens.
There, he discovered hundreds of boxes filled with drawings numbered faces of children representing a disturbing realism.
artist Victor crack, but disappeared despite the success of her show, Ethan is not decided to stop there.
Helped by a retired inspector and his daughter, he discovers that these drawings evoke every feature several murdered children many years earlier.
But where is hidden Victor crack?

"Faces" was my first experience with the audio book and I do not know if this is due to the specificity of that size or density of this story, but this first attempt was quite laborious for me. The housing
announced a total of 14h. So I scheduled a listening spread over a week for 2 hours per day. Nay!
Ensconced in my couch, I started on my first time listening.
While I let myself be sucked into the narrator's voice, I quickly searched for what to do with my hands, something I could not really explain because this kind of concern does not arise when I watch a movie. The position of
reader listening to a story through player exposes a certain passivity in the sense that there is no "effort to read" as is the case when we have to identify each word in a paper book.
short, after one hour, I let the matter to return to my traditional object "Guttenberg" to quote another. This novel has
unfortunately been listening jerky and, by thinking about it, I tell myself that (too slow) progress of history has certainly played a role in depression.
I renew the experience, however, probably with a shorter book.

"Faces" appears as the confession of Ethan Muller, a thirty experienced as narcissistic and cynical of its kind to take a critical look at everything and everyone.
Since the narration is done in an oral style led to the first person, I found that in this sense the novel lends itself quite well to listen.
While initially there is talk of an investigation, I tended to forget this aspect of history as what I thought was digressions were coming from all sides. Several interludes
involved in the story so that I would describe as (and especially) the family saga novel.
Indeed, it is highly question of the Muller family and ancestors of Ethan. Puzzled at first, I wondered what could motivate the author to prepare his bridges pedigree.
Then I realized how they were related to the case who was Ethan.
But I will not elaborate on this aspect of history at the risk of revealing the thread of the plot.

The reader follows therefore Ethan in his investigation that goes with a quest for identity. In addition to two women who are causing a lot of trouble, Ethan's life seems to be guided by two things: hatred of his father and the art, particularly that of Victor Cracke vis-à-vis which it feeds an obsession.
It is not uncommon Ethan expresses his opinion on what should or should not be the art by referring to figures such as Duchamp or Borges, and that raises the whole superficiality of high society in which it operates a world in which art is more of what he perceived to represent (financially) than for what it is.

But the investigation in all this? What about Victor crack, his drawings and murdered children? That is where the hurt down to me.
I found the survey progress too slow, I was annoyed by the words of Ethan that raised more new questions than answers.
To believe that the narrator - Ethan - (and author) seemed to find pleasure in this story take long to be able to monopolize the attention of the reader as long as possible, which agrees well with the end of egocentrism 'Ethan.

I found the writing of Jesse Kellerman particularly careful, precise (Sometimes too), I loved the portrait of Victor Cracke and considerations on art in general, but my enthusiasm has been hampered by the extreme slowness of the investigation. Too bad ... Full

Rain Before It Falls - Jonathan Coe

After several novels like the famous "Testament to the English" or "The House of Sleep," "The Rain Before It Falls" is the eighth and last novel to date, published in 2007 and translated into French in 2009, the British writer Jonathan Coe.

Following the death of her aunt Rosamond, Gill returned to Shropshire to attend the funeral and empty home.
Then he enters the scene, she comes across photo albums as well as many tapes recorded by Rosamond shortly before his death. A note on one of the boxes: "Gill, These tapes are for Imogen. If you can not find it, listen to yourself."
Imogen, the little blind girl that Gill had met once, was not found. Gill also undertakes Does listening to records that contain 20 descriptions made from old photos and say a lot about the past each other ...

Jonathan Coe I knew only by name but seeing the reviews posted here and there on this novel, I was eager to get acquainted with this author!
"The Rain Before It Falls" is a testament to the legacy of Rosamond small Imogen.
I loved the narrative pattern of this novel. Since it is about 20 pictures more or less, the chapters was a natural. The narrative is not linear because if provided anecdotes follow, they do not like.
course initially it comes to Rosamond of his best describe the various elements of the photo opportunity for the author to summon images of a tiny precision and certainly give some relief to the story.
The details provided by Rosamond did nothing harmless and contribute to develop behind the scenes, the reading levels of each picture to lift the chilly climate that surrounds the various characters. The
About Rosamond prove tinged with a melancholy that is not immune to a certain cynicism, nothing more natural when one knows the ins and outs of this story traversed by three generations of women who lack of maternal love is sorely lacking.
unloved, irresponsible, Whimsical, all have chosen to prefer a man to their own child, for a finger licking, unfortunately too late, and give place to the next.
And in the middle of bowling, Rosamond, the woman who will try his whole life to clean up the mess, always looking for affection, and would systematically manipulated and poorly received. One woman remained still sentimental and that we can only focus.

I was blown away by the faculty of the author to capture a subject as female ... even in his most intimate sphere, a gift that I had previously found that in Stefan Zweig.
One also feels in Jonathan Coe's increased desire for determinism in this way to present these different fates as bound by a spell unwavering.
the extent this fatality appears to be the thread of the story, I was not unduly disturbed unless - and this is the only downside of this novel to me - at the very end of the history when it comes to yet another coincidence (these / those who read it will remember the episode of the dog!) which I found far too big and that I think was superfluous. This small flat

aside, I was really delighted by reading this!

"I remember Thea frowned meditating these words, and then she proclaimed:" Well, I like the rain before it falls. "Rebecca 's is simply smiled, but I have replied (somewhat pedantic, I suppose): "You know, darling, before it falls, it's not really rain. - What is it then? "And I said:" That's the damp, nothing more. Moisture in the clouds. "Thea dropped her eyes again and was busy sorting the stones from the beach: it picked up two and started beating them against each other.
She seemed to find pleasure in the sound and contact. I continued: "You see, it does not rain before it falls, or it does not rain."
was a bit ridiculous to try to explain that to a child, and I regretted myself started there. But Thea seemed to have no trouble grasping this concept - quite the contrary: after a few moments, she looked at me with pity, shaking his head as if it was stressful for her to discuss these matters with someone One of too obtuse.
"Although sure it does not exist, she said. It's good for that it's my favorite. One thing does not need to exist to make people happy, right? "
And then she ran into the water with a smile from ear to ear, delighted that his logic has garnered him so insolent victory. "p.164

" The Rain Before It Falls "was a joint reading with liliB I thank I expected and discover the ticket queue.
Thank for Choco this gift in Brussels:)

Papeete to Lille!

An Airbus A340 of the French airline Air Tahiti Nui has been diverted from Paris this morning on Lesquin because of snow. Arrived at about 9 pm, it was still there this evening for reasons related to the slot not available until this afternoon and the rest of the crew. I must say it comes from Papeete via Los Angeles or 19 flight hours and more than 15 000 km! Air Tahiti Nui has 5 aircraft of this type with this beautiful blue lagoon and the Tahitian Tiare flower as its emblem. It also operates flights to Tokyo and Auckland.
The plane waited all day in the frosty mist Lesquin he should leave tomorrow morning for Paris.
